I took these photos last week, on my morning stroll in the shipyard. This part of the city particularly strikes me as a great place to visit during the colder and darker time of the year.
It's industrial vibe really goes along with the winter, making you feel sort of pleasantly unwelcome. Since about a year, there's also been an exhibition set up - showcasing the everyday lives of ordinary shipyard workers back in the communist times. For instance - many of the female employees had it the hardest because of their size. They were expected to work for several hours a day, welding INSIDE cramped and dark metal pipes in some absolutely spine-twisting positions. This and many more details can be found on "The fall of communism" tour which takes place in the very centre of the former shipyard.
I'll be coming up with some new inspirations next month.
See you!
